And so he rejects arguments that environmentalism is the purview of the privileged, barely a concern for the poor or powerless. Most of us barely have a handle on today, much less recent history. Instead, we accept dominant narratives that divide people into tribes, colors, ideology, and geography. We behave as if the planet was created for humankind, as if little people, with our tiny differences, are the point of all creation.
With this narratives come damaging psychological baggage that isolates us from one another and from our responsibilities to a shared planet. At 78, Anthony has little patience for those old yarns. He believes humanity urgently needs a redraft, so that we can together find meaning in a grand scientific narrative that promotes environmental consciousness and liberates all to be the stars we really are.
Anthony invites everyone to collaborate on writing our story. That creativity is in each of us. Nobody can tell us how to see ourselves or what we can and cannot accomplish. So I ask you … How will you contribute to this great adventure? Skip to navigation Skip to content. Indeed, I think that people want peace so much that one of these days governments had better get out of the way and let them have it. Yesterday is gone and its tale told.

Today new seeds are growing. You can practice any virtue erratically, but nothing consistently without courage. We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence.
Again and again we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force. Too many of us think it is impossible. Too many think it is unreal. But that is a dangerous, defeatist belief. It leads to the conclusion that war is inevitable — that mankind is doomed — that we are gripped by forces we cannot control. We need not accept that view.
How Rotary makes help happen
Our problems are man-made. Therefore, they can be solved by man. And man can be as big as he wants. No problem of human destiny is beyond human beings. Kennedy Read this powerful speech here. And the more peace there is in us, the more peace there will also be in our troubled world. Become the water. Only then will your thirst be quenched. Not to have tried is the true failure. The world is all gates, all opportunities.
But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who among us is willing to destroy a piece of their own heart. And there are only of them in the U. But we have found the will to develop missiles capable of flying over the polar cap and landing within a few hundred feet of their target.
This is not innovation. Emanuel Cleaver. I want to have lived the width of it as well. Joy does not simply happen to us. We have to choose joy and keep choosing it every day.
Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love illuminates it. The difference in both cases is responsibility. As we work to heal the Earth, the Earth heals us. No need to wait. As we care enough to take risks, we loosen the grip of ego and begin to come home to our true nature. We can relinquish our separateness.
We can come home again — and participate in our world in a richer, more responsible and poignantly beautiful way than before, in our infancy. Dream deep, for every dream precedes the goal. Live the life you have imagined. Hate is too great a burden to bear. For I have seen too much hate.
I have decided to love.

If you are seeking the highest good, I think you can find it through love. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift. That makes it hard to plan the day. You not only refuse to shoot a man, but you refuse to hate him. It is the political will of the people that makes and sustains the political will of governments. We must continue to speak for peace and to live the way of peace; to inspire others, we must continue to think of peace and know that peace is possible. What we dwell upon we help bring to manifestation.
One little person giving all of her time to peace makes news.
Many people giving some of their time can make history. Use every letter you write, every conversation you have, every meeting you attend to express your fundamental beliefs and dreams. Affirm to others the vision of the world you want. Network through thought, network through action, network through love, network through the spirit.
You are the center of the world. You are a free, immensely powerful source of life and goodness. Affirm it, spread it, radiate it. Think day and night about it and you will see a miracle happen; the greatness of your own life. In a world of big powers, media and monopolies, but of four and a half billion now six , networking is the new freedom, the new democracy, a new form of happiness. Peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal. Plastic is everywhere. We need to solve this problem at the source, and produce less plastic in the first place.
Our oceans harbour incredible wildlife, provide food for billions and help balance our climate. To keep them healthy, we need a global network of ocean sanctuaries. These will help protect oceans from overfishing, oil drilling and plastic pollution. But using all this oil is causing climate change and threatening our future. We need to change the industry and stop palm oil companies destroying forests. Clean, renewable energy is a vital tool in our plans to reduce the worst effects of climate change.
Replacing fossil fuels with wind and solar to power our homes and businesses will dramatically cut our greenhouse gas emissions. So we need to create a giant ocean sanctuary to protect the Antarctic. Air pollution is choking our cities and causing a global health crisis. But switching to electric vehicles can help provide us with cleaner air and slash carbon emissions. We need to make train travel cheaper and more efficient, and contain demand for flying. The Arctic is changing fast, and the ice around the North Pole is melting.
